A Couple of Little Moments

I thought I would blog these moments quickly, while I am thinking about it.

I was tickling Joseph and, taking a break to fasten his diaper, I look up to see him signing "more." My sweet baby, 10 months old, wanted to play more. It was honestly one of the sweetest moments of being a mother.

Patrick, after a bath this evening, climbed up on the couch next to Daddy, covered himself with a blanket and lied back on Daddy. After closing his eyes he gave a very soft, fake snore! :)

Sean and I overheard Joshua calling, "Ted! Ted! I need you! I neeeeeeed yooouuu!" It is amazing the leaps and bounds that his language is taking, and is so fun to see the two older ones interacting so nicely. He also told me that he wanted to give a surprise to Daddy. It doesn't sound so sweet until you hear his baby voice say it very sincerely.

Teddy has been very funny lately. He is naming his animals (his turtle is "sock"), and he made up a scenario of a parade with Transformers, but they looked like cars and no one knew they were Transformers! He was going to set this up, but unfortunately it was bedtime. We took a walk yesterday and he wanted to take his scooter, scaredy-cat that I am, I didn't want to de-spider the thing, so I told him no. For at least half the walk I heard him talk about how tired he was because he had to walk instead of using his scooter. That is a wonderful example of how he is now a big kid. He is remembering things very well, and is just a little more mature in his thinking. So the cutest thing that is worth the most mention about Teddy is that he now makes his stuffed animals do the Sign of the Cross after prayers every night. It is so wonderful to see that being Catholic is such a way of life for them, you cannot believe how endearing it is to hear the dragon do the Sign of the Cross in his growling voice!

While I am here, I will write about the latest happenings. We went to a beautiful wedding for Sean's cousin. I absolutely loved being with all of the family. Teddy was pretty shy, but had fun, especially with AJ and Uncle Dave. He did a bit of bobbing around, not much dancing; but he did dig into the meal! He has a bitty sense of humor now. To illustrate: I was putting on lip gloss and asked him if it looked nice and he said, "No, and your hair is messed up too." Haha! For the record, my hair was not messed up. Everyone enjoyed seeing Teddy and thought he was a little Sean clone. I did a little dancing, not much. Sean made up for Teddy and me, though. It is always great to see him out there with his dad and siblings, dancing the night away. I talked to a pouty Adrienne (Sean's cousin's little girl). She was unhappy about something and looking so cute. I solved the problem and then chatted her up. She told me she was 4 and I asked her if she was going to be 5 and she said, "No, my sister is 5." Haha, I love kids!

The next day we went to St. Joe, Michigan. The boys, Alycia, and I followed Karen, Zoom, and V up there. We went to the art show and saw some amazing things! Some of the things I noticed merely because I was shreiking, "Don't touch!!" I understand, I wanted to touch, too. The boys were a bit fussy, but after rainbow snowcones and shuffling around (baby in the stroller, mommy carrying Joshua, Teddy holding G-ma's hand, and Paddy walking with or being carried by Sarah) everything went much more smoothly. We got to the house after that and it was beautiful! Very stylish and yet very welcoming. Everything a beach house should be (although not much sand, which we remedied quickly!) After a mad dash to get the bags in the house, dress the boys, and lotion them up, we were headed to the beach! Ohhhhhh, I love the beach! I love the breeze, the clean air, the bright sun, the sound of the waves, the sea gulls, and of course the wonderful sun bathing and swimming. This year I found a new reason to love the beach: my kids had the time of their lives! Teddy was a merman from the start, in and out of the water, but mostly in. Joshua was the king of the castle, sand that is, and Paddy was back and forth. Joseph liked the sand and lake, but was a bit restricted because his diet doesn't include either of those things :) That evening the adults dined on pizza and icecream and played a fun board game. Don't ask me what it was, but it was something you had to be smart for, so I was glad we were on teams. There was drawing and acting involved and a heck of a lot of laughing! It was super fun and I was very disappointed that it had to end so soon.

OK, my dinner is here. I hope the weekend is a good one!

G-Mom and Grampy were very sorry to see that day come to an end too.
We look forward to more fun next year. Stay longer if you can.
