I thought I would do a seperate update on each boy since it would take a long post to properly update on four boys.
Teddy is almost five. Of course Teddy's birthday is also our anniversary on becoming parents, so Sean and I like to sit back and see how far we've come and how things have changed. Teddy is turning out to be a wonderfully fun boy. He is now interested in whatever a typical boy is interested in: space, astronauts, pirates, cowboys, guns, building, tractors, cars, dinosaurs, animals, and much more. I am very pleased that he still loves trains and can play quietly with them for hours at a time. He is rarin' to go in the morning and the first one to start playing, and he engages the other boys for a lot of pretend play. We now have long conversations about how things work and why things are the way they are. He really gets me to take a new look at things. He helps daddy with all kinds of projects and loves to garden. He is looking forward to camping and I think he thinks we are going fishing, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon!
We are finally entering a new stage of parenthood and it is fun and challenging all at once. He wants to argue and compromise on everything. I get caught in this web of words until I realize what he's doing. A lot of our strategies have changed! With this new stage, Teddy is finally really ready for school. He's very excited start homeschooling this fall and I am excited too. He is a sponge and just soaks up everything. He can already sound out all of the letters of the alphabet and is reading simple words.
It is so much fun to have a friend with me to comment to and to laugh with, he has a great sense of humor and is quick to listen (mostly! :).
