Summer days

We had a lot of fun in DC, Paddy did pretty well, but we had a couple of if-you-don't-laugh-you'll-cry moments. The 11 hour ride actually went pretty quickly for me because I was occupied by keeping Patrick occupied. He went to bed pretty early every night, 8 or 9 pm, so we found ourselves whispering and giggling, and actually eating dinner with only a night light. Luckily we had the laptop, so we were able to check mail, anything with sound was out of the question! The sightseeing was neat, but we did share the city with a ton of girl scouts there for a"sing along." You just can't imagine how many girls were there! Only after we were on the way home did I realize we didn't see the White House or the archives.
We got to see a friend of mine go through her final profession to become a cloistered Carmelite nun. It was an experience of a lifetime and very inspiring. The convent grounds were beautiful, but of course we could only see the public part. It was especially neat for me because I once considered this convent (before I met Sean!!).
We went to Indianapolis the next day. I couldn't believe how well Patrick did. He slept perfectly while we were there and was a happy little boy (I was expecting a Crabby Paddy:)). We had a lot of fun, and I am hoping to add some pictures of our trip there.

Teddy had his birthday a couple of days ago. It was a fun, low-key day. Just our immediate family singing to Teddy. He got a couple of Thomas engines that he is still carrying around and sleeping with today. He loved that his name was on the cake with the number 4, and he had 1 balloon. A little lame, but I thought I had more! His "real" party will be in a month, but really he was so thrilled, he doesn't need much more.

Aunt Laura and Russ brought some fishies for the boys. One for each. Joshua adores them, an Teddy likes them as well. This picture of them is by Joshua who just can't put down the camera. These fish don't seem like they'll last very long, only one eats happily. We'll see how it goes!
Patrick moved into the boys' room this week. Sean and I wanted a room to ourselves, you can't imagine how nice it is to turn on the light and not have to sneak into bed! There are three crib sized beds in their room and three dressers in our room. We are still ironing out the details, Patrick jumps and screams happily as soon as the boys come into the room, he wakes up with the slightest noise. In our room this wasn't a problem because he was sound asleep by 9pm or so. The first night Joshua ended up throwing a whole bunch of books into Paddy's bed, as you can see in this picture, what trouble makers! So we are still trying to figure out what will work out the best as far as who goes to bed first. I keep reminding myself that this is only until we get the attic finished, then Paddy will have his own room and we will all sleep happier.

That's all for now, I hope that everyone is having a great summer, ours is busy but a lot of fun. These boys make life interesting, the older they get (and the more we have!) the more fun it is.
